Hybrid Backup Sync: connect your Qnap NAS to your Leviia object storage (S3 compatible)
In order to connect your Qnap NAS to your Leviia object storage space using the HBS 3 tool, you must first create an identifier and a bucket.
- Go to your Qnap NAS administration interface, download and install the "HBS 3 Hybrid Backup Sync" application.
- Once the application has been launched, click on "Storage space" :
- Click on "Create".
- Click on the "Amazon S3 and S3 compatible" protocol.
- Fill in the following fields as follows:
Name : Leviia S3 (or any other name you decide).
Service provider : S3 compatibleServer address: the server address that you will find on the dashboard in the "Endpoint" section.
Signature version : v4
Region : france
Access key : the access key for your identifier that you will find on the dashboard in the "identifiers" section.
Secret key : the secret key of your identifier that you will find on the dashboard in the "identifiers" section.
Use a specific bucket : check this box.Bucket name: Enter the name of your bucket.
- Click on "Create" to connect your NAS to your bucket.
- Go to the synchronization menu and open the synchronization options. In this example, we create a bidirectional synchronization task.
- Click on the "Amazon S3 and S3 compatible" protocol.
- The system detects the connection previously set, click on "Select".
- Set up the synchronization task as follows:
Task name: S3 Sync (or any other name you choose).
Add a clipped folder (left): click on the + button to select the folder on your NAS to synchronize ("Multimedia" in this example).
Add a clipped folder (right): click on the + button to select the location in your bucket where to store the data (at the root of the bucket in this example).
Then click on Next.
- Set a schedule for your backups if you wish; in this example, we don't set one.
- Modify the synchronization task rules if you wish, on this example we leave the parameters as shown below.
Then click on Next.
- The task summary appears, click on "Create".
- Synchronization starts.
