Hybrid Backup Sync: connect your Qnap NAS to your Leviia object storage (S3 compatible)

In order to connect your Qnap NAS to your Leviia object storage space using the HBS 3 tool, you must first create an identifier and a bucket.

Go to your Qnap NAS administration interface, download and install the "HBS 3 Hybrid Backup Sync" application.

Once the application has been launched, click on "Storage space" :

Click on "Create".

Click on the "Amazon S3 and S3 compatible" protocol.

Fill in the following fields as follows:

Name : Leviia S3 (or any other name you decide).
Service provider : S3 compatible**Server address**: the server address that you will find on the dashboard in the "Endpoint" section.
Signature version : v4
Region : france
Access key : the access key for your identifier that you will find on the dashboard in the "identifiers" section.
Secret key : the secret key of your identifier that you will find on the dashboard in the "identifiers" section.
Use a specific bucket : check this box.**Bucket name**: Enter the name of your bucket.

Click on "Create" to connect your NAS to your bucket.

If the connection does not work, check that your system clock is synchronized. See the warning message at the bottom of the last screenshot.

Go to the synchronization menu and open the synchronization options. In this example, we create a bidirectional synchronization task.

Click on the "Amazon S3 and S3 compatible" protocol.

The system detects the connection previously set, click on "Select".

Set up the synchronization task as follows:

Task name: S3 Sync (or any other name you choose).
Add a clipped folder (left): click on the + button to select the folder on your NAS to synchronize ("Multimedia" in this example).
Add a clipped folder (right): click on the + button to select the location in your bucket where to store the data (at the root of the bucket in this example).

Then click on Next.

Set a schedule for your backups if you wish; in this example, we don't set one.

Modify the synchronization task rules if you wish, on this example we leave the parameters as shown below.

Then click on Next.

The task summary appears, click on "Create".

Synchronization starts.
