Create a bucket on your Leviia dashboard

0) ACCESS BUCKET CREATION
To create your first bucket (or object storage compartment), click on "Create a bucket":

1) CONFIGURE THE "DETAILS" SECTION
Your bucket name must be unique among all Leviia buckets. If the name you want is not available, we advise you to prefix it with your company name, or with the bucket access ID.
You must have an identifier linked to your bucket.
At this stage, if you don't have one, click on create a login (see [documentation on this subject])(https://wiki.leviia.com/fr/article/creer-des-identifiants-stockage-objet-dans-votre-dashboard-leviia-s8twkx/)).

If you have already created several object storage identifiers, select the one you want from the drop-down list. Only identifiers with an active status appear in this list..

Once you have entered your login and bucket name:
You can already validate the creation
Or you can add version management and object locking options (see below).

2) CONFIGURE THE "VERSION MANAGEMENT" SECTION
Enabling versioning is a way of keeping several variants of an object in the same bucket, and allows you to store, retrieve and restore each version of each object.
With this option, you can easily recover a version in the event of unintentional user actions or application failures.
This option must be activated if you set up object locking.

3) CONFIGURE THE "OBJECT LOCK" SECTION
Object locking prevents objects from being deleted or replaced for a set period of time.
You can activate this option for reasons of data integrity and regulatory compliance, or simply to add an extra layer of protection against object modification and deletion. In particular, object locking is the best defense against Ransomware attacks.
Your objects will then be stored using a WORM (write-one-read-many) model.
This option can only be activated when the bucket is created.

Once enabled:

Anyone with the appropriate authorizations can place non-editable objects in the bucket.
Deletion of objects and of the bucket before the end of the retention period will then only be possible via governance mode and according to sub-identifier rights.
You cannot disable this option, nor interrupt version management.

Set the locking mode:
By enabling locking without retention by default, your bucket is locked in a "manual" mode: a third-party application will determine the locking duration.
By enabling retention by default, your bucket is locked in a "compliance" mode: no identifier can replace or delete protected object versions during the retention period. An object is therefore immutable until its retention date has passed. To remove objects with this configuration, you need to delete your object storage subscription, as well as your Leviia customer account.

Governance mode will soon be available on your dashboard: in this mode, sub-identifiers with specific authorizations can replace or delete protected object versions during the retention period. This mode will be available soon.

Warning: once locking has been activated when the bucket is created, you will no longer be able to deactivate it.
However, you can change the retention time as much as you like.

4) YOUR CONFIGURATION IS COMPLETE!
Once your bucket has been created, it will appear in the list of buckets.
If this is not the case, you can use the refresh button.
