Mac : Add a new account in the Nextcloud app.

Introduction.

With the Nextcloud app, you can connect multiple accounts.

This documentation explains how to establish a new connection when an account is already logged in.

Add an account.

Open the Nextcloud app by clicking the icon in the menu bar at the top right. Then click Add account.

Click Login.

You must enter the address of your Leviia Next instance.

Then click Next.

A page on your browser will open. Click on Log in then on Grant access.

The connection is made. The tab can be closed.

If your web browser doesn't offer to log you into the desired account, go back to the Nextcloud app, click Copy Link, and paste the link into a browser in private mode.

Back in the app, we can see that the new account is logged in.

Creating a sync.

Now that the new account is logged in, you can create a sync.

Open the Nextcloud app, select the new user (their name should appear at the top), and then go to Settings.

A window will open; be sure to select the account on the left, then choose one of the two synchronization types, which are described in detail below.

Synchronizing virtual files.

When virtual file synchronization is enabled, the data on the drive can be accessed from the Finder via the Locations menu.

When multiple accounts are logged into the app, their names appear next to each synchronization folder.

Standard file synchronization.

The other option, Add Folder Sync Connection, lets you select an existing local folder on your Mac to sync with your drive.

Click the button to add a sync.

For this example, we’ll select a folder on the desktop named Data. Then click Open.

Click Next.

Select the location on the drive where the local folder will be synced. This can be an existing folder or a new one.

For this example, we’ll create a new one using the Create folder button.

We name it the same as the local one: Data. Click OK.

The new folder is selected; click Next.

Since this is a new folder on the drive, there are no subfolders inside it that can be excluded from synchronization. If there were, they would appear here.

Click Add Sync Connection.

The sync has been successfully created.
